Hi mullinal, do you have any photos so we can get an idea of your room size and decor? I am assuming from what you have said that it is not an open plan/ living area arrangement so if this is the case what about an additional table/seating area, even if quite small, for your kitchen to balance out the space? Or a large open shelving unit?

what's the size of the kitchen? You can add a pantry on the 4th wall or on one side of the window seat. Also a deep cabinet above the fridge can add storage.

It's about 8 feet by feet. How would you suggest putting in a pantry? I def want to do something to add storage.

The window seat area is a perfect place for exposed storage. Hang shelves across window, side-to-side, and store your nice dishes, wine glasses,etc. Or buy cubed storage baskets and put on the shelves to store what you don't want exposed, such as panty items. You could also hang a rod across top and use hooks to hang pots and pans...use your imagination! The bottom window seat could be used to hold heavy things such as your cookbook collection or heavy appliances such as mixer, blender, toaster...add color by painting the walls and hang some fun art on the 4th wall or add even more shelves for exposed storage on that wall, too. I would not use any shades on the window, but if that is too strange for you, hang translucent pleated shades behind the shelves to cover the window for privacy. The shelves could be made of glass, wood - either stained or painted - or commercial stainless shelves.

Do you have a picture of how you mean hanging shelves? I'm having a hard time picturing what kind of shelves... wire? Wood?

Shelves of wire, wood (stained or painted). glass, metal...it is up to you! Put brackets on left and right side of window frame and in the middle...you have the perfect place for additional storage in the window!

You can have a 12" to 24" deep pantry opposite the refrigerator . or something like these.

What you you like to gain in your kitchen ... more closed or opened storage or and/or something else?

If she has doors, then the fridge and pantry doors conflict.
