Exterior Colors - NEED HELP FAST!

Hello everyone. I'm down to the wire on picking my exterior colors (like literally I have to call them this evening). I thought it would be easier since I have a picture of a finished house to match it up with, but now I'm stuck.

The picture of the house can be found here, and we are trying to match it pretty closely.

I need to find a brick on this website that closely matches. http://www.southalabamabrick.com/welcome/

Go under residential and you will see the brick there. I first picked Charleston under the Columbus Collection, but now I'm not sure.

Also, the shingles will either be Teak or Driftwood. Still haven't decided on that either!

And then there's the stucco. I originally picked Van Dyke, but would love to hear other suggestions based on shingle and brick selections.

THANK YOU!

Updating to say I think I've narrowed it down to Lakeside or Charleston. How do these colors look together? Choppy Photoshop but it was the best I could do.

    I prefer the lakeside brick.

Have you seen the teak shingle on a home?

You're selecting colors by asking strangers that are looking at computer screens??

Thanks CLC. The house next to our building site we believe has the teak shingles or very close to it. We are going to look at a house that was built with the Charleston brick. Waiting to hear back from the brick company on a location of a house with Lakeside. Thanks!

Amber while Mark may have been a bit flippant with his response, he's on the money in the sense that you can't pick colors from a computer screen. Everyone's monitor reads colors differently. So while I may be seeing the Lakeside brick as more brown, another person may read it as more red.

Have you seen actual samples and put them next to your house during different times of day?

The only way to pick colors is to have the colors in the actual environment because everything around it will affect how you see the color. The sky, trees, neighbor's houses, etc.

Here's an example of what I am trying to explain. The purple color in the middle of each of the 4 squares below is the exact same color. However notice how the color surrounding it changes how we perceive the purple in the center?

My opinion is to select colors by viewing the actual samples in person in the light in which they will be viewed, and ask the advice of those that do the same. Not all computer screens are color adjusted the same. You could be better off just flipping a coin to make the selection.

Thanks cpartist. I totally understand the color differences and computer screens. Thanks for the example graphics. I've dealt with paints before and how they differ and change based on light and surroundings, so I imagine exterior colors are the same. My objective was to narrow down my choices enough so when I went to the brick store I wouldn't have to spend hours doing it there, then to get opinions from others on my two choices. I have a photo of the home we are building finished so I am trying to mimic their color choices. I think I've found it very close in the Charleston and plan to look at a home built in that color tomorrow. Thanks for reply.

I think narrowing it down and seeing the choices on an actual home is so much more helpful than samples. Sure, the lighting and surroundings of your home will ultimately be different, but it is still really helpful. I logged a lot of miles seeing our paint colors, stone, shingle, etc on different homes.
