How long does it take to retro fit the stair case (20 steps)

I am thinking of remodeling my stairway since the carpet starts to look dirty and worn out now..

Wonder if anyone has similar experience to remodel their stairway from carpet into retro fit treads and risers? How long does this job usually take?

the time to do the job is going to be depend on the person hired to do it.

if the person doing the job has everything needed on site, and doesnt have any tear up to do, and if your stairs run skirt to skirt and everything is straight, it could be done in 2 days.

if you dont care how it looks 2 hours.

if there is a lot of work to be done and you do care about the final look then expect 3 days.

It could take a while just to remove the carpet and all the staples. Does the existing step structure overhang the riser below? If so you'll either have to cut that off or add shims on the riser and install a new riser. You might want to buy or make a stair tread jig (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FLtXr-yPTcQ). It will save a lot of time and help ensure you don't make any miscuts.
