I just got some good news also, been waiting on my scholarship money from school as long as I keep my GPA over 3.0, got all A's this semester btw. What does that mean, kitchen area or bedroom redo.

Local Headline..."Meat factory worker dies in blender".....Guess my day isn't looking so bad after all. (Poor person)!! Awful!
Jayme that is funny in a sad kind of way.
Not to make light of it...in any way..the headline struck me though...almost seems like not real.
I am thinking about painting this lamp black... Gloss or flat? Or should I just forget trying to make it look not so outdated?
I'm just catching up now!! I must have missed the person who posted the same thing all over the place; I guess that is spam.
@astraea -- it was weird. I don't understand spam. Really. Why?
Ok. Good news. I got the old faucet out. They're fixing the sinkhole in my back alley.

Bad news. The plate isn't coming off. The alley is closed and my truck is in the garage.

    Deep breaths.

This is why I don't buy ground beef..........they're always adding stuff to it. (sic, I know)
Plate? what do you mean by plate Robin? Can you post a picture.
    Disregard. Muscled it off.
    Atta girl, Robin!
(making mental note) don't mess with Robin if there ever is an OLLD gathering......
^ Especially if she has a pipe wrench in her hand.
Ok. I'm on hold for 2 hours. I have to wait for my pa to come enlarge one of the holes so I can start installing the new one. I don't have a bit big enough to do it myself :(

    I wield syringes too ;)
    @Robin, You go girl
I hate it when I don't have the right bit. My brother agreed to pull the sink and toilet for me. I could probably attempt it, but I fear it's too heavy for me alone and if I drop it on the tile, I'm screwed. He grumbled a little bit so I said I'd call the plumber to put it back. Sisterly manipulation...

@pattiag....The fellow selling the boat is on the airforce base...getting sent elsewhere...selling off stuff. Pretty common here as the base people transfer out , etc...then they sell their belongings. We r going to make sure motor runs...and I am going to make a low offer as well. Stay tuned.
IDK...Kimdee..maybe u can get the tile guy to help out a little..U can always shoo him off when u r through with him!! LOL
  • 12 years ago
Was it the tile guy who was hitting on you before?
Sadly, I do not have his number...

A sub was hitting on you? I had a dry wall sub once that after his heart attack, his daughter came home from college to finish up a major project for him. We had designed and was building an Assisted Living Center (6 floors) to go along with the Skilled Care Nursing Center.........the little girl couldn't have weighed more than 100 lbs with her too belt on. About 5', petite with long black hair, but she could move dry wall sheets by herself as well if not better than most on her crew. Anyways, her first day on the job one of newer members on her crew who didn't know the score, hit on her rather aggressively, backing her up towards a wall and corner between the wall and a pile of sheet rock. She told him to get back to work and he replied with "what''s the little girl going to do if I don't....." Well, her answer wasn't exactly what he had in mind.............in one motion she pulled a dry wall hatchet out of her belt and planted the blade between his fingers in the wall, with a warning that next time it would be his fingers and then his manhood...........Little Rachael didn't mess around.

What Rachael lacked in size, she made up for with determination and balls to the walls attitude. I've never seen a happier crew when her father came back............Big Mike, claimed he lost almost 20 lbs trying to keep up with her. Last time I was down in the old home area I found out that Little Rachael was a lawyer..........man, I pity any other lawyer that had to go up against her in legal battles....I'm betting it resembles something like a shark feeding frenzy.
    That's AWESOME! Go Rachael!!!!
Yeah -- my tile sub! It was harmless, but I hope that if it became otherwise, I'd have had the courage that Rachael has!
Kimdee24, from what you have done in your house, I am sure you can do what Rachel did.
Belated Happy Birthday to Jayme! Hope your day was full of wonderful surprises!
Heck yeah! Got the sink installed!!!

I knew you could do it! Congrats!
I would have cornered him. (b 4 I was married, of course)!
Well...boat was HUGE...4,500 # with boat & trailer...a V8 motor that ran fine...but it seemed too dang big for us! Didn't buy.
    Too bad. Keep looking!
I was afraid we'd kill ourselves in it...too dang big! Something a tad smaller will do!!
No sense buying something you won't use.

G'day all, couldn't find anyone last night and my wifi was having a hissy fit this morning so did a beautiful heap of gardening instead - and found a few new muscles that now need a rest.

Happy birthday Jayme, hope you have been having a great day. Before you whinge too much about your age, just remember this is OLLD and you, you little spring chicken, are only one year older than my eldest joey.

Do check out running costs of a boat, don't know about the size you are looking at but my dd's inlaws once bought a beautiful 60 ft cruiser - cost $8,000 just to fuel it and petrol was a lot cheaper back then. Friend of mine lives near a lake and has just bought a kayak and loves it and dd has just taken up paddleboarding and is having a ball.

We really seem to be picking up a lot of new members lately - great to see and welcome aboard everyone.

Wonder where Bobbi is today and olldcan is still MIA. Haven't heard from Tras for ages either and Lisa and Busy.

Kimdee - have you checked out places like the Homey Church for something different in a light fitting? You weren't with us when we had the hilarious saga of my pendant lights, I wanted something different and eye catching without the price tag and found just what I wanted at our equivant of your Homey Church. It is only a plastic but it looks so good and is constantly admired by everyone, no one stops to think about price or anything. This is a link http://www.bunnings.com.au/products_product_light-shade-polypropylen-rouge-3d-floral-lily-tfhpllilyw_P7070956.aspx?filter=categoryname--Pendant+Lights&page=5

You will see it was only $49 so I know if I tire of it in a few years time, it won't bother me to replace it.

Hello Ms Roo! Sounds like you had a busy and productive day! Thanks for the site suggestion, I will check it out in the morning. I'm crawled in to bed with my iPhone and puppy so it's hard to see. Cool lighting doesn't have to cost a ton if you find something you love. :)
AND have the patience to look. Nite, nite, sleep tight.
Nite nite. Have a great rest of your day!

mouse...you are cracking me up! I was asking about what kind of lily you got..the huge one! lol! Not the frig make. ;) The reason I'm asking is because I have this one gigantic one that is about 6-7 feet in height and the bloom is huge as well. I only have one though and have no idea what it is. It was in the front yard and I transplanted it to the back patio.
lololol mpoulsom!!!! really? i'm so glad I made you laugh anyway!! :) I really thought you meant the fridge!
the lily is lilium big brother. is that what you have? holy cow it sounds wonderful. I got three bulbs which are the size of a child's fist. I planted them and hopefully the squirrels won't dig them up. today I found some torch lilies I had to have but they are now sitting out in the rain. thunder thunder rain rain :)
