I got them on overstock. But they only have the bar height in this color right now. I also added some wood glue when I attached the seat to the legs. The tops swivel so it got a little wobbly without it. But overall they are awesome so far.

Holy Crap. we're moving in this weekend. This last phase has FLOWN by. Flooring is laid, plumbing is done, carpet coming this weekend as well as cable and internet.

Had a visitor at the site this morning:

@heybarn all four of the Big Ass fans are up and running! They have been worth every penny. The two on our back porch have really made for pleasant days out back. Silent, huge air movement with lots of variation to speed via the remotes. The company was wonderful to speak with and they threw in a few extras for us like beer mugs, extra remote, and a discount for buying four.
For the small bedrooms with 10' ceilings, we went withthese Minka fans which give a similar look for much less cost. We're equally pleased with their performance and options.

It's been awhile since I updated because I don't have much to share. The finish bits and pieces are taking forever. I think I'm getting countertops today or tomorrow. They've put on cabinet knobs and handles. The newel post was set and the stair handrail was finished. I think our Onyx Collection shower will be finished today. The incessant rain has delayed finishing the outside; most of the siding is on and two of our three columns are there, but the trim work isn't completed. The painters are supposed to come back tomorrow to start in on actual color, and when they're finished the electrician can come start putting in the multitude of lights that have been hanging out in the master bedroom. We decided on a design for our mudroom area and the carpenter should be working on building it today. We have three tall shelf areas built into our studs upstairs in a long hallway. They are not deep but will be for my kids each to have a place to put Little league trophies, class pictures, etc. I'm thinking of backing them with cork, although there will be shelves as well.

All the major decisions have been made. I do need to pick up one mirror; I know where we're getting it but I just have to go get it. My husband was very against buying new furniture until we're in the house but finally last weekend decided living room furniture is a must. It definitely is. The chairs are about 20 years old, the end table was a hand me down 20 years ago, the couch we've never liked and just got it by default when my parents were getting rid of it. It's all pretty awful. But, having all those other decisions made freed his mind up to think of décor, so we went out and chose two chairs and a sofa. I'm thrilled and think they'll look nice.

Once something--anything--looks completed, I'll post a picture!! Until then, everything looks half finished. I'm well into preparing the old house for sale--deep cleaning closets, etc. We do have a few nibbles even though it's not officially on the market yet, with one couple (who would be PERFECT neighbors) coming next week to see it. He's worked in our old home before so he knows the ins and outs of our scary basement and attic, so he wouldn't be getting any surprises. And their daughter babysits for us. :-)

Well, I just heard the bus come--last day of school was today.

kirbyyy86 it is Prime Waterproof LVT flooring. I'm not sure if the builder used anything to clean it besides sweeping. We use Bona Hard surface cleaner to clean it. I checked with our distribution rep to make sure it was approved for the product. If you tell me what brand you have, I can check what cleaner is recommended for you *if it is a product we carry*

cslaughter love the peacock. We've seen a group of turkeys near our lot and there's a peacock that hangs with them. According to the grader there is a second group of turkeys in the neighborhood that also has a peacock with them.

ILoveRed - the color on my samples say Terratone. My builder and architect picked out the color and sent me samples. There will be a deep sage on the upper part of our house. I believe that it is painted - I do know the shingles were double dipped from the company who supplied them. Not sure if that helps or not.

Nothing getting done. It just keeps raining. We had torrential rains today. We got the take cover tornado warning earlier today and ended up in the basement of our rental for 1/2 an hour. Please stop raining!

We had weeks of rain but spring and good weather is finally here in PNW. Most updates are on my build thread but subfloor framing is under way; I can also hear framer's echos while they are in the crawl space; in a stange way I thought that was exciting.

Passed final inspection today and get to move in on Friday. Has been a long road but worth it. Still some finish work but we can begin enjoying our cabin. A few pics from last weekend. Will post more after we get moved in

More progress here, albeit slower than I'd like.

Insulation done, most exterior painted except under the porches, drywall started. We also nailed down our cabinets. We got quotes from two quality RTA brands and 1 local custom guy, and the custom guy was the cheapest and best options. Go figure. Front porch decking and ceiling materials ordered this week. We decided on Cumaru for the porch floor. Also ordered garage doors.

I'm having a heck of a time choosing a stain color for my single siding. This is not something I want to screw up.

The project manager for my build is a total ass clown. Just got a 7k change order for tile install. I've got a spec'd build. I'm not paying for their labor. We've gone a month with no progress on selections. Was supposed to go pick out my granite slabs tomorrow and we had to cancel because we have too many outstanding issues. Field manager is great, designer is great. House is coming along great. It's just this one guy being completely unresponsive and blasting over change orders.

Our last issue is a biggie to me as it is something that is not easily fixed. For a pallet of brick there are english, spanish and diagrams on how to pull bricks off of the pallet so there is a more even mix. They did not do that .... twice.

The first time the wrong brick was sent. Color way off. It was supposed to be brick pillars with boards in between around the porch. They did solid brick around the front. Plus they had large sections of all the same brick because they did not follow instructions or pay attention.

The builder did not hesitate to offer to tear it out. He went on vacation couple days ago when they started. Right brick... but they forgot the board part again around the porch. And again patchwork? Porch has mostly white bricks. The middle and garage has mostly dark bricks.

Sorry, gpeach, but I agree that it needs to be redone. We're using stone and our GC just told us today, that he made the stone vendor send a couple more crates because although they sent the correct stone, but the mix was off from the photos on the website we had requested. Fortunately, we used a good vendor -- shout out to Telluride Stone and they made it right promptly and without extra charge. Also our GC and mason were on the ball to see the issue before it became a problem. I think he said that originally there wasn't enough yellow in the mix.

And the first coat of paint in our side just today. Painters spray the first coat and roll the second. I couldn't get good pics because of all the construction mess, but below are our greatroom and master with the first coat. I am very pleased -- a very light Stoney gray --SW Popular Gray cut down 50%.

We've been out here this week and have made a lot of progress on tile selections, light fixtures, hardware, granite and marble, etc. We are headed home tomorrow and won't be back until sometime in July. At least the kids will be around to keep an eye in things, but it's really moving along. Still looking at an October completion.

Mojomom, cpartist and zorroslw1 - What I was afraid of. Thank you for your opinions. Thinking they started in the front. Stood back realized what they did. As the side of house has alot more variety. Back is not finished yet.

gpeach, better for them to get it right now, than for you to always be wondering.

Of course there are always issues and things needing direct thoughts. For example, the super had the framers mock up the window trim. This is what they came up with. It's fine as is, but is not the feel of a craftsman house.

I had specified true 4" wide trim, not the board size 4 which is really 3 1/2". They of course did 3 1/2". For the top I specified 6" trim. Again the top is only 5 1/2" because they used board size.

Plus the sill is very, very skimpy.

cpartist - The width of wood they used in the middle makes the brown part of the window reveal even all around. When you put the wider wood in the middle it covers up more of the window but just in the middle. Unless they can move the trim to cover more of the window on the sides too. Would choose the one they did with your thicker sill.

gpeach, mine is just a quick mockup in photoshop so I wasn't being exact. When they do it for real, the sides of the windows will match the center of the window and same with the top. :) This was just for the size of the trim pieces.

Ktdh, thanks. The wood siding is primarily 8" cedar channel lap and the stone is Telluride Stone in their Montana Alternate stone from the heritage series.

Tons of progress this month as we push towards the finish line. The exterior stone is basically complete and staining/painting should begin soon.

The beadboard in the front door barrel vault was installed so that's one more step towards a completed front/side porch.

Interior doors were delivered so those will go in quickly and all the door trim can be installed. Baseboard install started in the laundry room and will probably spread to the rest of the house.

The round windows are trimmed out on the interior and there's tons of finishing wood work staging up, like the three newel posts, and all the hand rails for the stairs and rotunda.

Almost every bathroom has some tile installed, but none are complete. Some have just floor tile, some have just the shower tile, and the master has none, but we did get the master vanity installed.

My builder is targeting paint by the end of June, wood floor after July 4th (one of his last steps). Probably just wrapping up finished plumbing and electrical after that. August is still looking great.

Oh yeah, the finish carpenters also finished the coffered ceiling in our great room.

Got the second drawings from our architect! The first drawings underwent major changes to achieve a flow more in line with what we want, and we are a lot closer. We'll likely be making a couple big changes to get to the rough layout we're happy with, then numerous minor tweaks from there.

Still early in the design phase but definitely heading in the right direction! I love seeing all of these in-progress builds - these houses are looking beautiful everyone! Can't wait for us to get there, too.

The painters have finally arrived and have been busy putting put in nail holes the last three days. That's a big job. They also stained our newel post and stairs, and I'm very happy with the results. I keep hoping to see wall color, but not yet. Our kitchen countertops are in, so progress there. Septic is completed. The carpenters haven't shown up this week; they've pretty much finished everything they can do inside before the painting is finished.

We showed our old house this week. They came back the next day to bring their daughter who couldn't make it the first time, and they want to meet again to talk details this weekend. I'm really hoping the details work out. We never even listed it. They knew we were building and called my husband about the old house. We scurried around frantically for a week and a half getting it ready to show--just deep cleaning, no painting or anything. We would love it if it would work out. They've known his family for ages, they are really nice people, and would be great neighbors, as our new house is across the road.

Is there a June feed yet? I couldn't find it! We broke ground in the month of May and we are currently in the framing stage. It's going up quickly which is slightly stressing me out because my next two major decisions need to happen now. I've been stressing over making the pantry larger because as framed it feels too small for what we want but that means eliminating the full pocket office and either creating a command center/drop zone/charging station/printing storage somewhere in the mudroom and locker zone or more like a closet but the problem is that the door coming into the house from the garage is kind of in the way. AHHH - and then kitchen cabinets. Why are they SO expensive?! I was hoping to get away from "builder grade" but I don't think we have the budget for 100% wood, to get cabinets to the 10' ceiling and the pantry areas... Husband wants to order cabs through a vendor at costco called allwood but they sell under other brands and don't have awesome reviews and there is noone local to blame when something goes wrong! Ugh
