I'm no expert, but read that the Bears was grown commercially in FL for some years. I don't know that you can get the Genoa in FL. I asked Ruth at Harris a while ago and she seemed to think she could not get it.

You can get them. But you have to hunt around the state and call all the citrus growers. I actually have all of these. I'm just trying to decide which to put in the ground. Which will do the best in this climate and thus should go in the ground.

The Bearss is typically sold green, as a "Lime"; it is popular with bars and restaurants, but typically has very little juice. If the Bearss is left on the tree until it begins to get yellow, it is a much better "lemon", IMHO; it has a better flavor and lots more juice; but when yellow, it is almost impossible to sell commercially. As for the others, I think I would choose the Lisbon; it is a subtle difference but culturally it tends to produce fewer and larger lemons than the Eureka. Commercially the consumer either cannot or does not distinguish among the ELB's (Eureka, Lisbon, Berna). My Brother lived in Tampa for 8 years and his Meyers produced prodigious amounts of lemons.
