I hope not. But what I really like is the pearls. That has become hard to find these days. I see a lot of liquids at Walmart. Not so much at other grocery stores though.

They just got the power caps a short time ago and already clearing out. They were clearing out some other brands as well but this surprised me. I like the pearls too and can hardly find them as well.

They got the cleaning right but not the scent nor the suds control.

They (Henkel) are not paying for prime location on the shelves either. I usually find it toward the bottom shelves. They also need to have more formulas and scents to grab more shelf space like Tide (P&G) does.

Lowering the price might help sales everywhere too.

George, I'm surprised at how sudsy Persil is. It needs to be carefully dosed.

And I have no suds issues with any Persil...I used to with the liquid, but no longer..I have soft water

Had some Persils go on sale here as well only to make room for the new labeled Persils.

My local "Independent Grocer", which is owned by the same company as "No Frills" (Loblaws), still sells Persil liquid detergents. The last time I bought Power Perls, however, I got it at a 50% quick-sale discount. I haven't seen Power Perls sold at that store since then. Argghh! I like Persil Power Perls. I suppose I will have to go back to a specialty store to get Persil powder or Perls, or go back to using Miele powder detergent.

I think all current USA Persil products smell great, and are basically identical to Euro formulas in terms of scent...none are sweet and all are clean and "detergenty".

The power-caps are the least sudsy for me, as long as the load size is medium to large and needs to be washed...I can even safely use TWO caps on large loads, with minimal sudsing and easy rinsing!

ALL Persil liquids and the power pearls are stupidly, insanely and ridiculously sudsy during the wash and even during THREE rinses!! I cannot use the Pearls (powder) or liquids, and this is sad because they clean and smell amazing!! Suds, suds, suds!!!

I was just at No Frills yesterday here in Alberta and it had lot of Persil for sale and not on clear out. Let's hope Mamapinky0 is right and they are just making room for the new labeled Persil!

The Persil on the right in this photo is the newer packaging (at least in Canada). Canada has the same population as California only spread out over a much larger area. That makes it a tougher retail market. If it's not selling I can see Loblaws dropping it no problem. It had more shelf space when it launched than it does now. Tide dominates by a long shot. I'll keep my eye out but I can't even find the 2in1 liquid anymore. Since they introduced the Power Pacs it's gone. Which is odd since the pacs are the original not the 2in1. I managed to find some at a drug store chain and grabbed a couple in case it really is gone for good.

The newly labeled Persil around here say something about 10 dimentiones of clean..the Caps and Liquids are well stocked here, but the Pearls never did reappear. Very irritating.

The right bottle says Pro10 Premium Clean 10 Dimensions of Clean - which is why I figured it's the new packaging also being cleared out. 2in1 liquid is completely gone around here and the pearls are hard to find.

Did they discontinue the powder. There was none at my local wal mart, and when I look on walmart . com it says no longer available.

Wow. Target.com is the only place that I show has supply of Pearls as a major big box store. I may need to stock up. I don't have another Whites Detergent that I like right now.

Better get stock while you can.

I think Henkel is run by some moron.

They kill Wisk (a staple in American laundry).

Now they are killing their best (only) whitening powder detergent.

I'm sure it's a $ thing. It might cost slightly more to make and they want to cut costs, that way they can show overall profit. It's not what the customers what but so what, it's not good for profit margin.

OMG! I just ordered a bottle sent to my son as a thank you gift. I guess I need to send some jugs to me now!

    Henkel, what are you thinking!?!?

While the Pearls are insanely sudsing and impossible to rinse for me, they CLEAN and whiten amazingly well. Very sad and wrong that Henkel is cancelling their only true, whitening product.

Even though Tide with Bleach powder no longer smells good, it still has it's bleach activator. Such a stupid move to no longer make Pearls. I wonder if they will be gone in Europe too??

Grab Green powder pods have a bleach activator, and with HOT washing they will whiten better than most products!!! Love them!!!

You can also order some Vanish Gold powder online and add a 1/2 scoop to your regular detergent and wash on HOT....amazing whitening capabilities too!!

Thanks Larsi. I just ordered 10 jugs of Persil Pearls from Target online. If you spend more than $30 or $40 dollars (can't remember) you get free shipping.

Will my jugs last for 2 years? Or is there a shelf life for detergents?

Ok everyone, I just got off the phone with Persil and they are not discontinuing the Pearls. I was told it is "one of their best sellers". The shelf life is 2 years for the powder.

I find that hard to believe. It's almost impossible to find the pearls here. I've learned that customer service doesn't always know what's going on.

Could be @livebetter. My call went to the Philippines. I called twice. They did say their distribution could vary. The service person took my zip code and was going to pass it along. The products are prominently displayed on their web page. Target didn't bulk at my order either.

What about what Cedric posted above right from Persil?? No I doubt Euro Perls will be discontinued, but the US Pearls are history...think about this....The Pearls had a 2 year run here and I think they didn't sell well enough to spend the money it would cost to formulate them in the US as up to now they were imported. I can understand them not being a huge seller, the price was well not cheap and this is the USA where most people outside of this group want one size fits all. aka...one detergent that does it all...most people haven't a clue what sodium percarbonate, activated bleaching system, or even enzymes for that matter are..and Henkel isn't really taking a loss as they know they have a following that will just go back to ordering the Perls from Europe...

    Mama,

I was not aware that the Pearls were imported. I read an article about Henkel manufacturing in the US and that all the Persil was made specifically for the US market. Even the scents were reformulated for the US market. The article is from azcentral about Persil manufacturing. I think at the price point Persil sold at and the different look from American detergent, it was a tough sell.

I also just spoke with Persil they told me yes the Pearls have been discontinued in the US.

Mamap did you tell them that they're making a bad decision?

I find it so frustrating that customer service can be so hit/miss. Like the person calling Electrolux being told no heaters in the washing machines. Miele is notorious for this as well. Smh

They would have been better off if they had sold it as a detergent with bleach for the brightess whites. Instead they used a mixed message saying it's for whites also for colors...huh? We here know what it is for but the average consumer running down the store aisle doesn't need to read a mixed message like that. No tv advertising for this at all, only the liquid.

And finally US consumers have been relentlessly told that liquids are more convenient (even though I find them messy) so they occupy more and more shelf space and then we have to by laundry boosters to fill in for what the liquids can't do. Works for the manufacturers.

Yep manufactures make a killing off of boosters..ridiculous. and another thing most people don't understand adding these boosters are a sure fire way to cause dry, scratchy, yellowed textiles if used with powder detergent. Sure add them if using liquids or better yet buy a product that already has a activated bleaching system.

    Couldn't agree more Mama!

I'm nobody but I've been hitting them on Twitter.

Mamap what number did you call? I called twice and was told that it was not discontinued. Did you talk to someone in the US?

Enduring the # was 1-888-841-4722..the girl had a heavy accent. She told me its the North American Pearls that's been discontinued. I ask about the European but she said she doesn't handle inquiries fror Europe.

I suppose time will tell, but its clearly on Persils Facebook or wherever Cedric got that from...I found it in all the stores around here on clearance and no one has any around here any longer..and Walmart.com says out of stock.

The Pearls aren't on the Cdn website at all.

Mama, I just dialed the number you posted and got Grab Green so I hung up.

My post is from Persil's US Twitter account. They've actually replied to multiple times to people inquiring about Pearls. All responses said, they're no longer producing them.

    Here's their US profile: https://twitter.com/PersilProClean

    UK & Ireland profile: https://twitter.com/persiluk

    Canada profile: https://twitter.com/PersilCanada

So with them having different profiles for their regions, they're providing information specific to that region.

Edit: Persil's US CS number is: 1-800-457-8739

Ok, I just opened a twitter account! So I could post my disappointment with Persil stopping Pearls. So Cedric, help me with twitter. Someone is following me and I don't know if I like that, lol. Can I manage who follows me? Or are there some things that I need to do to protect my privacy?

    Enduring I'm sorry LOL correct # 1-800-457-8739

Yes, thats the phone I called twice. Oh well, I visited the twitter pages that show its being discontinued. I am now a proud twitterer. I have one follower at this time, lol

    LOl...Twitter away..haha. I'm 61 and have never twittered.

I've never tweeted either. But I had to post my complaint with Persil.

Cedric..thanks for BrickSeek links. There are not any available in my city so I want ahead with my cart order with Target. Enduring must do a lot more laundering with her order of 10. I only got 3 and I am sure that will last me longer than the shelf life. Perhaps a codicil to my will is needed

Pc, lol. I'm hoping to use mine up before I die. I use it on DH farm clothes. I love it. I use it on tshirts too. White towels. So I think I will get through it in 2 years, and be able to gift a few bottles to loved ones.

I just ordered two from Target. I have very hard water and it's the only detergent that gets my whites looking white ( with a little help from stpp). I'm not a laundry junkie like the rest of you, though my friends think I'm OCD and can't believe my line-up of five detergents lol.

Back at that store today and Persil is totally gone (liquid and all). Not even a spot for it. Granted it's not the biggest laundry selection but I sense Persil is in trouble here. There were two more sections of products not shown here.
