Palmate "Cannabis" Leaves?

I know this is not Cannabis...but it just looks something like it. So, what is it?

The big leaves are maybe ~7" long or so?

Leaves fused, not truly palmate like the real cannabis.Hmmmmm? Puzzling, Don't think it's a Texas Star Hibiscus or chenopodium. How strange times 2.Do you ever run into the real McCoy on any of your frequent photo excursions?

Yea, doesn't quite look like Texas Star Hibiscus, either?

Although that might be along the right track... White Texas Star Hibiscus (Hibiscus coccineus 'Alba') does have some more similar leaves. As does Kenaf (Hibiscus cannabinus)..

And no, not yet... But, I haven't really gone anywhere really backwoods yet, either. Has anyone else run across some MJ?

Yes,a friend had it mixed in his garden. The Cleomes are a foil and the plant had to be bent to stay low and less conspicuous.Still can't I.d. your plant. It could be a chenopdium, but there are 613 species and I got discouraged.LOL!

Only the resinous, trichome filled flower buds contain the psychoactive cannabinoids that get you high and have a great amount of medicinal value. That plant doesn't have any flowers.

So, as Ken likes to say, the life is in the buds. ;-)

Lol, not that inconspicuous, but nice weed patch there! B)

And boy, those Cleomes are really tall and stunning, too!

And ha, I'll pass... Pretty sure it's not Kaneh bosem, just not sure what it is exactly?

OK, well mystery somewhat solved...it is definitely some type of Hibiscus. It finally bloomed and these large red flowers are probably ~4"-6" across or so...

Anyone guess what variety this might be?

blackrab, how interesting. I guess I was pretty close with my Texas Star suspicion.Thank you for the update.Keep the mysteries coming. As for an I.D., Check out H.radiatus and H.grandiflorus.The radiatus has small thorns on the stems. If those two don't pan out than possibly a H.coccinia hybrid.A couple species in Texas have already hybridized giving H. X sabei. The two species mentioned have leaves that are the closest match to your plant.H.radiatus flowers usually have a mauve coloring in the petals which I'm not seeing in the pics, but it will have small thorns.H.grandiflorus blooms in different colors, but a red flowering one would be a good match.

Andru, Psilocybin mushrooms are sadly still classified as a prohibited substance in the USA, you can order the spores for them online, and they also sell mushrooms kits to grow them online. You can purchase dried Amanita muscaria online,(it is legal), but it's a different kind of high, more darker and not as fun as a Psilocybin high, but very spuritual. I'm sure you'd have better luck finding people who sell them on Facebook at one of their several groups about psychoactive, enthiogenic plants and fungi. I don't personally have or know of any Facebook friends who sell magic mushrooms or I'd refer you to them, but I know people who sell coca leaves, Psychotria viridis and Banisteropsis caapii powder for Ayahuasca, and Sacred Frog venom, and dried mescaline cacti.

It's been proven that Psilocybin mushrooms help terminally I'll people, yet our government won't allow us citizens access to them. I didn't view Andru's comment as a drug deal, but instead as a cry for help, and if you see your neighbor stuck in a ditch, you should try to help them out. I hear all these idiots saying it's their God given right to own assault weapons, but weapons don't grow from the earth, they are machines conceived and constructed by humans. I believe all plants are on Earth for a reason and it's no coincidence that the molecules in cannabis and other enthiogenic plants bind with the receptors in the human brain perfectly. Let go of ignorance and have an open mind. Restore Andru's comment. You had it deleted and you have the power to restore it.
