Master Bath Help

Here's the "wet wall" in our master bath, and my inspiration picture.

- Ceiling is 8.5' high, tub wall is 9' long.

- Would you use 6x12 tile or 8x16 tile? I'm leaning towards the bigger size.

- How high up along the tub wall should the tile go? Should I do the whole wall, or only 2ft high with a marble chair rail?

- The shower niches need to be on the same wall as the shower head. Would you do a mosaic on the empty big wall, or just leave it with the big marble subway tiles?

I believe it means your shower is no longer waterproof. Penetrations through the curb are a no-no as I as a non-expert understand. I hope one of the experts explains it clearly. As they are the experts. Lol

The liner appears to be laid flat on the floor without a pitch underneath. Therefore it will not function as a proper liner installation. Yes the fasteners penetrating the curb would also be a problem. Let's not jump ahead here. My guess is a topical waterproofing system will be used and the liner is just a back up due to a lack of faith in the system that will be applied or a added peace of mind. This is common as installers slowly make the transition from a water in / water out system to topical. Post photo's of the waterproofing process from here. I have no idea what a big marble subway tile is but if your using marble in a shower inquire about the pro's & con's first.
