what should I add on that wall?

Our living room is still a work in progress, but getting close! We would like to lighten our fireplace and get a new mantle eventually, add more accessories and bookshelf/storage fillers, and cover the gaps under the baseboards, but right now I'm wondering what we should add above the left chair/guitar wall to level out the mid century storage unit on the right? Any other suggestions?

A largish piece of artwork hung low so that the top is in line with the cabinet on the right. I would also pull that shade from the wood into the painting or frame.

I think you need to move the storage unit. It competes with the fireplace, it needs some room around it.

Agree storage unit needs to be moved from that wall...is their a wall over on the other side of dining table for it to be moved to....would look much better it is really taking away from your pretty room and fireplace....check out this artist on Etsy.com....something like this would look great!
