White Mark On Dark Table

I have a table that had a white ring on it from a glass. I read online to try mayonnaise on the ring. I did that and it left a much bigger white area on the table!

I have tried Restore-A-Finish, Old English Dark Wood Scratch Cover and both MinWax and Guardsman Stain markers. The wood will not accept color from any of these.

I am afraid to make it worse. Can anyone recommend how to fix this or recommend a professional in the Westchester NY area? Thank you so much!

Any refinishing shop can take car of it. The most common cause is water reacting with polish or shellac. How long have you owned the table? Has this ever happened before? Did you recently apply a wax/polish and was it different to what you normally use?

I do professional touch up and white marks are a common problem. I use these and have never had them fail. They have a light abrasive in them so may alter the gloss level. I can adjust the gloss down with touch up lacquers, but you my be ahead to just rub out the whole top if you are happy with a glossy finish. There is also an oil in them that I remove with Guardsman Furniture Polish. White rings / blush are as a result of water getting into the finish (or not escaping before the finish flashes off.)
