Need help with laundry in downstairs bathroom

I'm buying a farmhouse in NJ built c. 1900 that has laundry in the downstairs half-bathroom, just off of the kitchen. There's no real laundry room and there's no other great place to put the washer and dryer. I'm thinking that the best solution would be to:

1. Remove the shelves on the wall

2. Buy a stacking kit for the washer and dryer

This should make better use of the space, but does anyone have any good advice for hiding the plumbing fixtures on the wall to the right of the toilet?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
