I just LOVE those furniture choices, right up my ally!! When you say the window in front, do you mean the window on the bottom almost right of the image, past the "Living Room" box? I am a big fan of making a seating arrangement feel like a conversation area, so sofa and across from that two chairs with a table in between. However, if you watch a lot of TV, having the sofa straight on does make it easier on the neck. In that case, you could put two chairs to the right of the sofa, making a visual L. On the left side of the sofa, you could place a large ottoman, or even a second sofa to ensure you have seating and make the space seem more conversational and "closed" in the open space. Does that make sense? Have you tried putting this image in Word or Paint or something, then take an image from the Article sight of your purchases and place them in the drawing. It won't be to scale, but it will actually give you a bit more of a visual look of what you have going on, and especially with color and scale of pieces - meaning, if the sofa is enough scale to compete in an open layout with the dining table/chairs... :-) Will you be adding any accent colors to this area - rugs, side tables, lamps, etc? That will also affect your layout. For example, if you plan to anchor the sofa off the walls, your table lamps will need a plug in, so the electricians need to plan ahead for that... Super exciting to have new construction in the works. Enjoy the process!!

I think for the most part your layout for furniture will make sense. The great thing about that is that you won't be locked in if you want to alter it a bit - unlike more permanent things like cabinets and vanities! I agree a photo of the space and trying to super-impose the furniture in there would probably be very helpful.

We tried to create close-to-scale layouts and decided to go for the sectional version of the same sofa. We also moved the TV a little closer to the bottom of the plan so that area feels more like its own space. We will of course add a large area rug and coffee table as well as a sideboard or media console under the TV area.

I actually like that much better. It gives the room a great visual break and makes the seating area seem more like a conversation area as well. I am one who prefers two chairs with a table between by that bottom window, but it depends on the chair of course. Otherwise, you are making headway that is very exciting! I'm sure you are very antsy to move in and see the new digs in real life. :-)

I am pairing this with matching ottoman and chair. The ottman can be added as a chaise to the end of the sofa or as a coffee table with a tray. I'll post pics when everything is done.
