I don't have any experience with her. But I have done remote work with an excellent designer by phone, face time, and online photo albums. It was very beneficial, but it is NOT the same as having someone in your home, so I do it in very limited situations only. You spend a lot of the time you're paying for making sure that you're on the same page about things. For example, what undertones your current floors or countertops have. Whether the natural light in your house has a green, yellow, or blue cast to it. Things that if someone was in your house you would spend $0 clarifying, because they would just see it on their own. I would definitely not engage in an email only consult - phone only is limiting enough, but email? I don't care how brilliant someone is - that's just not good enough.

I recently tried Havenly online interior designers for my master bedroom. it used several online methods plus phone calls. with all the info I gave them, they easily could have helped me design a master bedroom. But instead I ended up doing a whole lot of work for a whole lot of nothing. it was a lot of work, just like the last commenter said. She is right, having someone walk into your house will save you a ton of time. Seattle should have some pretty incredible designers up there. we are going to do our kitchen with Ikea. All of our friends have been incredibly satisfied using just their services. If you're looking for something swankier, you're on your own. but I think you could apply a lot of Maria's advice to the Ikea kitchen model. They take you through all the steps. You can make it Timeless and classic just like Maria instructs and then proceeded to upgrade it as much as you want with companies that solely make custom doors and whatnot for Ikea kitchens. those companies are very passionate about designing a more upscale face on basic Ikea Cabinetry.

I bought Maria's ebooks and her renovate/new build course. They are excellent. She definitely has classic design down pat. If I were in your situation, I would go for it! She is amazing and seems to have this down to a fine science. Her blog is chock full of plenty of design examples where her eservices have been utilized. She is very straightforward.
