Side entryway birch tree wallpaper accent wall

Hello. Any advice would be much appreciated. We own a house and we use this side entrance a lot which leads to a large laundry room then to our finished basement with bar & billiard table. Our property backs onto a forest with many birch trees.

I would like to beautify this narrow stairwell/entryway as seen in the pictures. My plan is to stain the wood stairs and the handrail, then to put a grey runner from top to bottom and secure the runner to the steps. I am going to paint the walls and ceiling with a satin light grey. I'm going to keep the lighting fixture.

I would like to apply the Bouclair birch tree wall paper as an accent on wall labeled 'A' however I'm unsure if I should continue the wallpaper all the way down to the floor over wall 'B' because of the ledge or just simply paint the lower half.

Any design advice is appreciated. Pardon the mess :)
