Should I bother to try and get fruit from our olive trees?

Hello all

We have a couple of trees in pots, one quite large. One of them is Luca, not sure on the other. They appear to be fruiting, but they're not cared for very well so either the fruit is falling off or birds are eating it before they get very large.

We have access to some land where I could plant them, but I'm wondering if the quality of the fruit will be very good, they'll need protection from birds, and if processing olives is a real pain.

My wife wants me to hack them up and make them bonsai, so I'm wondering if it's worth all the trouble or not trying to get fruit.
