If you want to keep your kitchen light, consider a cream tile - many different sizes and shapes, but I went with the simple subway tile.

You have the 4" granite piece on the wall which makes it a little tougher. I'd either paint or do a stainless subway to tie in with the pulls and stainless since the space is more narrow. How much area needs to be done? Just some shorter areas as shown here?

If you can remove the 4" piece then a color such as: Venus Marble Mosaic in Milky way by Olympia Tile would tie in nicely.

those are not oak cabinets. looks like maple. very nice too. I like Porter's suggestion. A nice travertine in light ivory would also work

or glass tile like this. and yes, remove the 4" piece first

Make sure you love those counters before you tile. ................? A soft gray quartz with your flooring and cabinets perhaps? A far better idea than the orange tone jmho
