That looks interesting! Does the top layer get cut out? Or do you cut the parchwork into a circle and then stitch on to the large square. Maybe you can do a tutorial???

Very nice! I had a pattern way back when for a folded star, and it looked very similar. IIRC there was a way to machine sew that circular seam that involved lots of clipping the edge of the opening in the frame.

I trace spirals on Sulky Solvy and very slowly FMQ 'sew' them. With this spiral I am able to trace from the outside inward and when I get to the center I start going back out. This allows me to work from block to block to block....

Theresa, This is a pieced circle, all 2 & 1/2 scraps sewn in quadrants, then the border sewn very slowly on curve for each quadrant, then, press, then sew the four quadrants together to form the final block. The templates for the curve borders are all copyrighted.

The instructor provided us with templates for 6", 14" and 20" finished blocks. We received a discount on the pattern since this was a guild meeting.
