I am buying 2 Chinese and 1 Bismarck Palm and will winter them outside all winter. I will be protecting them with individual enclosures in my yard and likely with low wattage bulbs for a light heat source. Burlap wraps, fungicide spray, insulation property and enclosure. I will also include ventilation for those warmer day not to over heat the plants.
I also plan on putting in at least one Banana tree also this year to winter outside, same procedure.
If anyone lives in the Toronto, Ontario (zone 6b) area I would like to communicate with them about their failures and accomplishments doing the same.
