Hello All,

I am growing in a small patch in front of my house that I have given a woodland theme, with a sub theme that everything in the patch is adapted to the Mediterranean aspects of our climate. Right now, the patch has a sunglow vine maple (dwarf with chartreuse foliage to ~5' in about 10 years) and 3 asian saber ferns. The rest of the patch is slowly being filled in with hardy cyclamen. So, with all that preamble, here's my question:

Given that hardy cyclamen go dormant and die off for the summer, is there anything that I could grow in the patch that would grow as the cyclamen begin to yellow and go dormant as the cyclamen begin to wake up? Bonus points for plants that fit with the woodland theme and are adapted to our dry summers and wet winters! Thanks!
