Need help picking a paint color for this bathroom wall

I can't get my head wrapped around the colors going on in this room. The current wall color is a cross between Eve Aschraft's Mouse and Dog's Ear - so basically a warm gray. It looks nice elsewhere in the house, but in here it doesn't seem to work with the counters & shower, so I'd like to repaint. But with what color? I *think* the shower and countertops and beige, and the cabinets are a sort of off-white. Is beige the right name for the color of that shower? Maybe a soft blue with gray undertones, like suggested in this article - but what do you think?

One of the few times I think cream/white is appropriate or a darker taupe. Blue never.

i agree. cream, ivory or pale yellow. no blue.

Wow, what a stunning bathroom! I would go with a warm white. Maybe Oat, from the link you posted?

why are you limited to this paint? the two lighter cream shades are the only ones I see that will work. can't you do another paint?

WOW! Beth you really are a pro! :) Thank you for sharing this resource. And Benjamin Moore makes such great paints. The Ivory White and Linen White both look promising, but any of them could work - I'm going to go over to the house in a few minutes and see what jumps out once I'm in the room. And then I'll go buy some sample boards and try a few out. I'll post pictures!

If you plan to change out any lighting, you might want to do it before you paint because a different bulb could void your carefully-selected paint color. Good luck!

It's funny you say that, the lights over the mirror are brutal, and I was planning to switch them out. I'll start there!

Solid plan. Your initial comment got me wondering whether the lighting was the root cause of why the paint was pleasing everywhere but this room.

The plot thickens! I just came back from the house and took a close look at the bathroom. I do think that the ivory/cream color would work, but there's another, underlying issue. The shower wall has what I'd call pink undertones, and the cabinets (which must be leftovers from the kitchen, they are same cabinets) have a different undertone - almost yellow? They don't work well together. So now I am thinking about painting not only the walls, but those cabinets as well. Would that help? And if so, what color could I paint those cabinets? I'm open to any suggestions and advice!

Frankly, if it were my bathroom, I'd paint the cabinets change out the lighting to LED, then decide on the wall color. It's a pretty bathroom, but lots of competing colors. Other option is to change out the light bulbs and then paint the walls. That would be a lot simpler. The blue in the grey is just not working.

We move in on Tuesday, I think I will have to live with it for a while (with new lights) before making any decisions.
