Can you provide the dimensions of the full room? I think you should go as large as you can.

it's a matter of preference as you can see above... My preference if the room is small would be the first in the row of bed sizing.... if the room is very large then you can see the rest. It's a reasonable guide to help you with a decision... Good luck!

Hi, thank you for your help! The room is roughly 13x15. The dresser on the side is about 2 feet. The nightstands are just temporary for now. Thank you, Porter, for the picture. That is helpful!

You can see in the design we did below that the bedroom is curved so the rug goes as far under the bed as it can (under the nightstands as well), but not all the way to the curved wall. But as Porter suggests it is preference.

After all the comments, I'm leaving toward the 6x9, which I think looks like a nice option for the queen size bed in Porter's example. I appreciate everyone's help!

Hi, you can always tape it off with painters tape so you know better visually. I'd do photo one or two for a queen and not 3! I have a king and my area rug is such as photo 1... just my preference is all. You want to be able to have it nicely surrounding the bed, but not heading too far toward the walls so you have some wood showing which makes it look nice. Post when you get a rug PLEASE

Great idea, Porter! After all this time, I still didn't get a rug but I'm going to do that painter's tape idea today and make a decision. I'll post a photo when I do!

I would suggest a 5x8 rug.
