Hi all- I am back to trying to decorate the wall with my fireplace/tv. We would like to eventually fill in the alcove, but until we can hire someone to do that we're making due. I tried to decorate either side of the fireplace, but it feel very off balance to me. . . Found a picture on Pinterest with wainscoting that I like, but not sure I can just do it to one wall??

Any ideas of what to place on either side of the fireplace? ? We have a very country chic feel to our house, so we tend to stay away from anything too fancy.
