I agree with Rusty's comment. Also, because the room is small, I would suggest lighter drapes, maybe even white to match the mantle and built-ins. Since the room is small and appears to be on the darker side of things, perhaps your wall color could have a little yellow in it (or even 'be' yellow)? It would add cheeriness to the room.

Choose your carpet first and then your paint colors. You can then paint and have the carpet installed. There are so many more color choices than carpet choices you are better off having the carpet chosen before you pick your paint. The brown curtains are really too dark. Consider replacing them with a great pattern to go with new carpet.

You need to pick all colors at the same time. This way you can be as sure as you can be that the colors will go together.Maybe a painter can tell you the best schedule: walls first or cabinets first. I honestly can't decide on the mantel and bookcases...if you do mantle and cabinets the same, it would be easy to just re-do the mantle if you wanted to.

Wait until you paint the walls to decide whether this Pewter is dark enough. I would consider having a beefier mantel custom made to slip over the current one.

Perhaps black - every room can use a touch of black. Or do you prefer natural wood? If you painted the cabinets white, then a classic white mantel.
