Drapes and rug should be complementary to each other. Are you sure grey is the best choice for paint?

I cannot envision gray in your room....especially with the bricks. I would go slightly darker than what you now have. Gray will surely not liven things up. I think that you need to consider other elements in the room before changing curtains. Do you have a rug? Do your couches match? Do you have art that you plan on using? Do you keep the curtains closed for privacy/light control? Is your furniture arrangement suitable? Could you post pics of the rest of the room?

I would do grey unless you put yellow with it your wall is very warm maybe navy move your your drapes rod to the ceiling don't cover any of the window just down both sides...

I think a deeper taupe colour like SW perfect greige would look good on the walls. Some pics for inspiration. I would be inclined to take away the wooden rods and hang your curtains not far down from the ceiling. I like the red, green accessories would look good too

Ideas for beating the dull in your family room.

Clean out the corner to the right of the TV. Looks like you're using it for storage. I count 4 items plus the fan. You could get a nice ceiling fan (not one with a light).

Pull the sofa forward a couple of inches--it's scrunching the drapes.

Agree with others that the basis of your color scheme is beige because of floors and your wall.

Add an accent color.

If you do get drapes they should be hung higher. Be careful about patterns that could clash and look horrid with your stone wall.

I personally wouldn't change the drapes or the paint. They are a good neutral color and work nicely with the stone wall. Right now, the couch blends in with the carpet. I think the solution is an area rug in a warmer, deeper color with a subtle pattern. I would then add patterned pillows and a throw to the couch to give some pop.
