Ironwood is right. I'd look into other options and I have no idea if these are available, but see if there is something like a wireless plug in that you could use. With technology nowadays, it certainly should be.

What about installing a pair of columns that work with the floor plan and home's design. Place the electrical inside.

I had a receptacle that was said to enclose an electrical outlet for lamps etc. in the middle of my carpeted floor of what is my family room when I moved into my current home. I never had cause to use it. Evidencing a total lack of curiosity, which is unusual for me, I never picked up a screwdriver and got down on the floor to confirm the information. However, when we had hardwood floors, rather engineered wood floors installed we made certain that the receptacle was saved for the next home owner. Maybe you're early enough in the building process wherein you can call for a few strategically placed electrical outlets and they will be in place before the slab is poured? Good luck!

We built our own custom home. We put in beautiful plank cherry wood floors. We added 2 electrical plugs, but we needed our sectional sofa in the center of the room. We mis judged the right location for the outlets. So now we use one outlet with extension cords under our sectional sofa. Its hard to know exactly where to locate the plugs. I would put in more plugs if I was to do it over.
