Our kitchen cabinets and island are an off-white / cream color. The crown molding in the room (which also goes on top of the cabinets) is the same cream color. However, the base boards and trim around the various door openings in the kitchen (some of which runs right under the cream crown molding) is a more pure white (we think it's SW Alabaster, or something similar).
The problem is, it looks a bit off to me especially when the crown runs near the door surround trim, and you really see the difference between the cream and the white. It looks like the crown is dirty or unfinished. Of course, it looks good near the cabinets.
Is there a fix for this? If we painted all the crown white (to match the other trim), it would probably look off around the cabinets, no? And we couldn't paint the trim that cream color because it connects into other rooms (and we don't want to change the trim color in those rooms). Painting all the cabinets is out of the question right now. Open to suggestions!

I've attached a photo... but should note the wall color (orange) is old, it is now a very light blue (SW Balmy). The crown is the cabinet color (what I'm calling Creamy), and you can see the brighter white trim underneath.
