Should half posts be painted white or stained like railing?

I really don't want to draw attention to the half posts attached to the wall and was thinking of painting them white like the rest of the balusters. The 3 main posts will be stained like the railing (medium brown). Would it look weird if they don't match the other posts? One has already been primed white (see photos). I welcome suggestions :)
