Bug identification

Can anyone help me identify this critter that's crawling around on my plants? I've seen both yellow and red. Are they bad? Any advice to go along with it would be greatly appreciated.

Yes...ladybug larvae. Google some pics so you can see. Definitely a good thing!

Well that's a relief! They certainly don't look as friendly as they do as full grown lady bugs. Thanks all for your input!

One more thing...

I just took another peak at my plants and perhaps other critters are involved but I'm noticing the larvae seem to be lingering on/eating new growth and munching away at the leaf edges.

Maybe check online about the larvae munching. I think I recall hearing that even ladybug larvae eat things like aphids, white flies, mites...and other soft bodied pests.

I agree the larvae don't have the same appeal as the adults. Pretty far from it!
