Help deciding between installing white or dark cabinets

Hello, doing our kitchen all over however cant decide between white or dark brown shaker cabinets. We are a family of 5 that uses the kitchen a lot. We agreed on the carrera stone for backsplash and unique calacatta for countertop. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Looking for between a modern, functional and transitional type of kitchen with a wow factor. Thank you

I am normally not big on white cabinets but in your home I think that would be preferable over dark brown.

Go for white. It goes best with your other furnishings and its a big seller

We definitely want a quartz countertop in the light family with the veins & the carrera for backsplash ,however also afraid it will be too white and plain. What are your suggestions?

If you go with white cabinets and the back splash you showed, I would just get a quartz countertop with a little more personality to it. It can still be light but with lots of interest.

If you are keeping your off white floors, I think darker cabinets are best. They will provide some contrast and also work well with the light countertops and back splash.

I don't have an opinion on the cabinets. I love your living area, but please center the art over the loveseat and lower it to 5 - 8" above the back.

I like everything except the taupe subway tile. I am just not a fan on that color with stainless appliances, etc. Just my opinion but I think a brighter more reflective look might be great. Here is one I am currently in love with. It is white, but it might be available in other colors I'm not sure. I will post in a jiffy.

I have the "source" for this, I just have to dig it up if you are interested. It comes in 12x24 sheets and is very interesting and a bit different, which is why I like it. Just so sick of subways of all kinds and shapes. I think they have gotten way overused at this stage. Although, they are not a bad choice in some situations. You have a bit more flexibility however. bbl

That tile is Madison Nacar by Porcelanosa. Not sure on pricing or if you have the ability to go outside these choices? But just a great look. You will have smooth cabinets, smooth quartz, smooth porcelain, and this texture would really pop!

Like the look of your bar stools.

I like the natural wood cabinets you have, however, many don't. If you're thinking of changing to darker or painted cabinets, please consider altering only the island base cabinet at first -- darken it or paint it -- to see if you actually like that look.

If you do, then consider darkening or painting only the other base cabinets before changing the overhead cabinets.

Agree with those that would consider lighter colors preferable to darker colors for the cabinets. in your home -- especially with yellow sofas and white bar stools. Be wary of getting an unintended yellow or pink hue in any off white color you choose.

Like that you included a ceiling fan and it does look nice; however, you really don't seem to have a lot of lights in your living area. You might consider a more modern ceiling fan with lights if you decide you need more light.

Any suggestions for quartz countertop? we were looking at the unique calacata ,however since our floor is in the beige family and the quartz has more white and grey veins, we were told to stay away from that
Any suggestions for quartz countertop top with white shaker cabinets and beige looking porcelain flooring?? Thank you in advance for any suggestions.

I would paint your cabinets gray, or get new gray ones if you want new cabinets. It will blend well with the stainless appliances and go well with your family room.

Now debating on counter top and backsplash, trying to avoid the dull look but not dark !! lAny ideas!!! thank you

With those wonderful yellow couches, you have a modern feel and some strong color going on in your home - all white in the kitchen seems a little bit wimpy in comparison. How about mixing it up and having some dark cabinets in at least some of the kitchen? Black or dark grey, not brown/wood. Picture is just for the color effect, not the style...

Look to your fire place stone for back splash inspiration. If you are a busy family of 5 then a marble back splash is going to be one big headache. As pretty as it is, and I LOVE marble, it is a HUGE hassle to deal with marble b/splashes. They need sealing, constant attention and they can absorb oil like NO ONE'S business (and then the REAL work begins applying poultices to get rid of the oil stains).

A pretty faux limestone porcelain tile would look BEAUTIFUL with your fireplace stone and your gold furniture and your soft wall colour! It would be a natural fit.

I'm sorry but i don't have a fire place, but maybe this link was sent to the wrong person. Thank you

Help deciding on backsplash!! Hello everyone, i have attached a picture of the color floor and the kitchen will have white shaker cabinets and the island will be a dark mocha. We chose Marrara quartz over silestone, however we are having trouble finding a backsplash. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Mirror the space between cabinet tops and crown moulding. Add LED ropes to cabinet tops. After the lighting is improved decide on whether or not uppers need to be lighter.
