We have a combo of pulls on upper doors and drawers and knobs on lower doors, looks good imo.

I'm normally a fan of mixing up knobs and pulls, but for that small kitchen I would probably do all pulls. And to bring in some interest I would do the same pulls in different metals ... like maybe brushed nickel on top cabinets and oil rubbed bronze on the bottom cabinets.

I like all pulls. It's just personal preference.

I agree with ACM. I did all pulls, because I find it easier to open doors and drawers.

Based on my pictures do you have a preference on either pulls on walls or knobs? The right side I mocked up knobs and left is pulls. Do the pulls look too busy? or on the other hand do the knobs get lost on the big doors?

Should I just order a bunch of each and return what I don't choose?

To me the knobs are better on the cabinets, so you don't have both horizontal and vertical lines from the pulls, and especially since you have upper cabinets of different sizes I think it is less busy looking. I would just use the pulls on the lower drawers.

How do you feel about Brushed Brass as opposed to satin nickel?

Our floors are a plank grey porcelain, counters marble Carrara look quartz

I thought the brass would help warm it up, but I'm scared I will get sick of it or it will go out of style and maybe not go with my grey flooring.

I am planning on bringing wood elements in the dining nook table and a wicker bench seating and stools to warm it up. I'm not sure if I should go brass or satin nickel. Nickel seems safe but br

Personally I love the brass, although that pull style with the open ends may be a problem bc the open ends get caught on clothing when used on lower cabinets. But I'd go for the brushed brass color in a heartbeat. Hardware is SO easy to change out.

As for knobs and pulls, while I love pulls and find knobs boring, I find using all pulls to be too visually busy. It clutters up the space I think. So I use pulls on all drawers and knobs on all cabinets.

Really good point about the pull style with the open ends! I would not have picked up on that. Ouch!

I am going to find a brushed brass in the style of the nickel one. I still am worried I will get tired of the brushed brass but do like the color tone.

Our scheme is cup pulls on all top drwrs in base cabs, open pulls on all other base cab drwrs & doors, knobs on all wall cabs, all in same Top Knobs line.

One other recommendation when doing K reno, go w/ pilsner vs. IPA. :-)

I think the brass will feel "dated" too quickly. I agree with the open ends on the pulls, especially on belt loop Ma and housecoats! We have them now and it drives me crazy.

I agree that the bottom pull in a brushed brass would be gorgeous. Yup, it will get dated, and probably faster than the brushed chrome or stainless will. But to me that's why it's awesome and different. What other major material of your kitchen can be current, that you'll love looking at every day AND then change out for a few hundred dollars once it's time? Just keep them and love them till they are dating your kitchen, then change them and feel like you've really updated the room. Win/win :).

How about brushed brass knobs on the uppers (get your bling for less) and a combo of SS/Nickel on the base cabinets? Maybe use just 2 of the brass pulls you love on the 2 upper cabinets on either side of the stove (since that wall looks like it faces the peninsula/eating/living area). There will be less to change out later; and, if you love them, you can always replace the SS (which are fairly inexpensive) with the brass.

There is no right or wrong way so use whatever you like. You can put painters tape on the cabinets in the sizes and shapes of the pulls and knobs so you can stand back and decide before you start drilling.

We have the combo you described on our pantry wall.

I too have a small kitchen and there is hardware on every door, drawer, fake drawer in my kitchen (32 total) which drives me nuts with the metal clutter and claustrophobic feel. I would seek out finger pulls or no pulls/knobs at all. If the kitchen was bigger in actual size I'd go for the hardware.
