Granite installation issues- opinion

I've been checking out youtube videos on the wrong way to install granite. Just had ours professionally done and they put the seam for the two slabs right next to the dishwasher, which I seem to see a lot of videos on how not to install. Is this a problem? Why? And how to fix? Im clueless on this and we are having issues on other work we've had done so checking everything they worked on. Thanks!

That makes no sense. The granite doesn't hold in the dishwasher. That metal strap you see above the dishwasher gets screwed to the two adjacent cabinet boxes, then the dishwasher gets screwed to the strap. Why do you need a 'box'

If this was the best location for the seam based on the granite you had available it will be just fine. Not ideal visually but will function fine.

looks like the metal piece is "supporting" the weight.

The joint is over the cabinet so structurally its fine. Why wasn't it joined at the sink?

Hard to tell from the pic, but that metal piece may be there to screw into it that tabbie that is sticking out from the DW. Supposedly by securing the DW via the tabbie to the metal piece on the underside of the counter the DW will not tip when the door is open and the drawers are pulled out and loaded.

Oh, the things you learn when remodeling!

They needed two pieces of granite to get to the sink.

We have a box supporting the dishwasher when it's open so it doesn't tip, first thing it did when we opened it for the first time. Oh yes! I'm learning SO much and I'm just making sure it's not all going to fall apart!

I'm fine with it visually. I just want to make sure it's not going to crack or something. Would love it if the dishwasher wasnt falling over too.

Your granite seam is fine. Modern dishwashers are prevented from tipping by having their sides screwed into cabinets per manufacturer's instructions. Securing at the top is ugly, old-school, and obsolete.
