Need more info...Is it an either/or? Basements are large. What are the different spaces already in the basement? Is the house large- for a family, OR Is the house a townhome in a singles area? Who is most likely to be your buyer?

Many singles enjoy going to the gym, whereas Moms & Dads have to worry about child care in order to hit the gym.

Great questions. It is a large, colonial home good for a family. There are 6 bedrooms. In the basement there is a large office area, full bath, and large L shaped room with huge TV, sitting and dining area. There is another large area in the basement that is ready for drywall. Just not sure what would be better especially for resale value down the pike. Thank you.

Is there room for a small corner bar? Then it gives the next owners more of an option for the space. Can still be a gym but can also switch to entertaining space.

That's a tough one! I think I'd have to choose the wet bar. If you have guests staying down there, they will at least have access to a sink and some basic utensils. You can always keep gym equipment down there as well.

Definitely a gym. We had the option, and chose to put in a gym. Of course, we have four kids, and needed a place for them to "make a ruckus" without us having to hear anything :)
