Two other considerations- do you need shade at all via umbrellas, pergolas, sun sails etc and do you want a table and chairs to eat at? or a bar? Also, which view do you prefer? That's where I would want my main seating area..

Seating area on one level and table and chairs for eating on other level, lots of potted plants and shade of some sort

thank you for all of your suggestions. I would love a nice dining table but I feel like the grill area is cramped because of the gate. I also neglected to mention that the grill area where the stones are is a large hot tub,so I'm not sure if it table would do well there. We were in our old house for 20 years and have only been here a year. I really want to maximize the space with seating but I want it to be well done. We definitely could use an umbrella or shade of some sort. I would love a fire table as we are not able to have a fire pit in the backyard yet

We opted for no propane..The table has to be higher to fit the tank underneath if you don't have a hard line running to it. Have found that the duralogs work for the majority of the nights we use it..Lasts about 3 hours. If we're going to be out longer, then will burn wood. We wanted the coffee table height for our table and seating area. Is the stone wall where the hot tub is. How much room do you have? Could you use the wall for a seat?

thank you for your input ..I really just wanted the propane fire table because my husband doesn't want to deal with wood Etc right now and it's just for occasional use but I'm not sure if it's worth the money, and yes the Stonewall is for the hot tub and it can be used as a seat, but that area is not very big because of the grill and the gate. I feel like both areas need to be a sitting area because there really is no good place for a table without it looking crowded unless I did a four top or a little bistro table. any advice is appreciated thank you

Just looked like you could almost do a long skinny table pushed up to the wall with a bench on the other side for most days - dining for a few and then slid out right when eating if you need the extra seating at a meal. Is the wall chair height or taller? photos from other angles would help. A brightly painted picnic table even. Are you looking at specific furniture for the seating area?

If not propane, use the fake logs until you put a bigger pit in the yard..Then use the fire bowl to ice down cold ones.

here are a couple pictures of the hot tub area. the lower patio is a square and we felt we should have chairs or something against the wall where the drop off is and obviously need a walkway with the gate and the grill. and the other patio is awkward and long and as much as I would love a dining table out to there just wondering do I have to have one? We had one on the upper patio toward the end and it seemed like it was wasted space. so that open area where the goose is LOL I thought of putting a sectional and maybe two chaise lounge to maximize the space, it's very awkward and long.
