Love this plant. we have a fairly good sized clump whose only problem is a few hours of too much sun mid afternoon. We put up a patio umbrella and baby them through the hot season. We planted some others under some bamboo. The bamboo choked them out, or so we thought as we hadn't seen it in years. A few years ago we had the damnboo removed, scraped out extra dirt to insure the bamboo was really gone and added topsoil several feet thick. The next year the Omeiana popped up in the middle of a set of steps we'd put in. What a pleasant surprise. There is another spot the landscaper that removed the bamboo used to shake out the roots of the bamboo that we turned into this berm, and up popped these omeiana. We call them "The Ladies" They are some tough old girls.
