Ditch the tub entirely. Its hugely dated, and no one uses them. They get ripped out every single time someone does a bath. Plus a corner shower is awkward. Increase the size of the shower. Split the vanities. And put up a privacy wall for the toilet.

A five foot rectangular tub under the window is definitely the better way to go. Adding a rectangular shower next to the tub that comes out longer on the ten foot plus wall would work and give you a much larger shower.

If I put in a 5 ft tub, I can only put 3ft shower along that wall. is a 5x3 shower good enough? I was thinking the shower should be atleast 5x4, preferably 6x4.

8'-10-1/2" minus 5 feet is almost 4 feet. Even allowing for a partition at the end of the tub you will have 3'-6" clear. A shower that wide by 5 or 6 feet long is huge. And I would extend the glazing to be between tub and shower (on top of the wall) to allow for maximum openness.

Yes, that will be plenty of shower. You'll be glad to have the simpler tub and nicer shower -- both are less than ideal in that corner configuration, and most people find they hate jetted tubs.

Or get a squarish Japanese soaking tub and you'll have room for a larger shower.

More than anything for us, the tub is mainly to give a good look to the bathroom. Does a contemporary slipper tub need to have any additional space around it for the look? or can I put one end of the tub close to the wall and the other end right next to the shower.

Corner tubs are really dated..the above suggestions are great. If you want a larger shower, you could do a tub in front of the window, but with the long side along the 10 ft wall

You need enough space to be able to clean around a freestanding tub. I think you'd be better doing a regular drop-in with a deck, especially as you could tie it into the shower, or even extend it in as a bench, as in printesa's first example.

Shower is large enough, around 4'x4'. You have a separate water closet to code. You have a nice sized 5' vanity and a large linen closet. If you have a tub somewhere else in the house, this is the way I would go.

you do have the space for a decent bathtub and shower, but if that's the reason, ditch tub. they aren't all that great looking to start with, & a large shower, a large wall mirror, good tiles, and fixtures will get you a far better looking bathroom than an unused tub.

They layout you have is good but I would definitely go for a rectangular tub and a 5x4 or 5x3.5 shower. I had one that was 5x3.5 and there was plenty of room in it. If you use a 34" tall X 24" deep vanity as is common today, your toilet will feel quite private. I just installed a new 72" vanity in that size and you can barely see the toilet. My layout is very similar to yours. Either of printesa's examples would be perfect for your layout. Just one thing-consider a toilet with a concealed trapway. They look so much nicer and are much easier to keep clean.
