Are you quilting this weekend? June 16-18

Good Morning Quilters! It is a beautiful, warm, sunny day here in Columbus. This has been another busy week for me. Yesterday we had both granddaughters here for the whole day. I do believe the meme I saw on FB to be true. Grandparents don't babysit, they have play dates. We had a fun but tiring day with the girls.

DD wants me to go to IKEA with her this afternoon. A new store just opened here last week. So much better than having to drive to Cincinnati! I am looking for storage containers for my sewing room. I am also hoping to find some decorative glassware for the alcove in my living room.

Now back to quilting. Last year I won a kit to make a Fold 'n Stitch Wreath with patriotic fabrics. I cut it out and am trying to figure out how to use the foam squares that came with it. The foam is supposed to be fusible but it does not want to fuse for me. The directions don't include fusing instructions. I did find out which side has the fusible by checking on the internet. I'll try again!

Are you quilting or sewing this weekend?

I'll doing dinner sunday so I might not get to it. I just now finished a top and need to think about the back. I do have quite a bit of fabric left for a pieced one.

Linda, I know what you mean! Our DIL is out of town for 3 days, so we have baby Charlotte while DS is at work. I love having her - we just play & play.

I put the binding on a QOV for our local group last night so I can get it to the woman who will add the label and deliver it laster this month. Our church sent out a request for tied fleece blankets, so I will probably try to get 2 or 3 finished to take to church on Sunday. I also need to move more rocks ... hopefully the landscapers will get here on Monday to put the new front yard in after last year's front porch renovation destroyed the yard. Other than that, probably not much else sewing.

I'm still in NYC, so no quilting. We saw Kevin Spacey perform his one-man play as Clarence Darrow last night. What a brilliant actor. We went sailing in New York Harbor today. Really fun. I've walked more in the past four days than I have in the past four months, I swear. Having a blast.

I hope get a lot done this weekend. DH is on a business trip. DS2 is on a school trip to Europe and DS1 is home from college but always out with friends.

Im almost done quilting the shirt quilt - made from DH's old dress shirts. I hope get the binding stitched and hemmed this weekend. I hope to start piecing a UFO that I want to finish and gift to a friend as well.

Lois, your NY trip sounds great. Will ask you for tips when I visit next

I didn't think I would get anything done this weekend. There is a luncheon tomorrow at our church for 40 choir members and I am the organizer. It is being catered but there are always little extras that need doing. Anyway! I think we are good to go and so I sandwiched one top earlier today and plan to do a second later today.

Hope all the fathers are having a good day. DH is on the phone right now with one son. And then Mom has to have a turn.

No sewing for me. Getting DD's dresser drawers back in after painting everything. Resting after my Breakfast in the Garden group yesterday morning (been doing it for 18 years) and then a friend and her two teens came over and we dug up a bunch of plants for her to take home, mostly hosta and lillies.
