I'm fairly new to Adeniums. This is a plant I have gotten from Rick. It was bare when I got it, it has finally leafed out. The leaves are quite different from the other Adeniums i have. Hopefully Rick will chime in. Maybe he has some with leaves like this also.

I have a BUNCH of seedlings with leaves like this. Some of them are really skinny, narrow leaves, some are wider. I think some of it, but not all, comes from a portion of the parentage having either Adenium somalense or crispum.

This is definitely one of the plants started from Mark Dimmitt's seeds that I received.

Either a A. Obesum x Crispum or A. Obesum x arabicum. Thinking more along the lines of obesum x crispum. Bloom will tell.

Post a photo of the profile of the plant. I may have a photo of it and if it had bloomed?

Rick, I'm sure it did come with a tag. I must have misplaced it upon repotting it. Coming to think of it, I'm sure it said something along the line of crispum.

That is beautiful, Rick. Quite lovely! I hope I get so lucky with some of mine. Laydee Luv, my seedlings are about 10 months old now but not very large yet. They barely got started growing after germination when I had to bring them in for the winter last season and are only now really growing great again. Apparently I didn't water them enough over the winter so they went super dormant, but they are thriving now.

There's one of my many seedlings but my Petchsayrung also has strong white veins in it's leaves. It is supposed to have very striped flowers when it blooms.

It is so funny that you post this now. Just a couple of days ago I was admiring one of my seedlings which seems to have very prominent white veining. It truly looks different than all of my other adeniums, but i had trouble capturing a good photo with my phone. Seed came from Kukuan at adeniumcenter.

Peter, I was fortunate enough to get some X's from Mark Dimmitt of quite a few different crosses. Cannot take credit for his work and experience.

I recently decided to swap the fir bark in my gritty mix to Orchiata. I have to say I'm really liking it. I like the color and texture of it. My Adeniums also seems to be loving it. Being in Canada you have to really becareful of not over watering.

Hyn Patty- you have some nice seedings coming along. If only we had the weather here! I don't know how Rick does it!

I also have a plant with such white veiny leaves. The leaves are much bigger than the ones from my other seedings. They look so special! I also have the impression that the trunk is much thicker than the ones on the other plants but that could just be a coincidence.

What is this 'Orchiata' that you speak of? Interested to know.

Laydeeluv, what size Orchiata do you use? I've been using the precision size (3-6mm) in my seedling mix, but am wondering if the pieces of that will be too small for larger plants.

Francesco- They do look alittle special. When I had gotten it, it was bare, so I was quite surprised to see it leafed out. Its different compared to my other Adeniums. The leaves are bigger and slight thicker. The trunk or caudex is alittle thicker also. I'm really looking forward to seeing it flower.

Rick, Orchiata is a orchid growing substrate that can be used straight out of the bag. Its suppose to be longer lasting so it doesnt break down as fast as fir bark. It comes in different sizes. I usually mix it with perlite and pea garvel to make a gritty mix. The sizes are pretty uniform which I like. I've just started using it a couple months now so I'm pretty much new to it. This is the size I use. Its quite uniform with the perlite and gravel.

3-6mm, our smallest chip size used mainly for young orchids or orchids seedlings (from flask).
