Can anyone tell me what this is? It seems to have erupted from a small hole in my elfin thyme like a miniature volcano. There is a slug on it at the bottom of the photo and later there was another on top of the foam-like pale yellow material. It is not sticky and appears to cover a base of a reddish, perhaps slimy layer. Although the slime could be from the slugs that seem to be attracted to it. Something related to slugs?
