Ken, I do plan to drive there soon. I usually use mail order, that's why I was surprised at no prices. It's about an hour &15min drive and I enjoy the planning of purchases, and drooling over hosta pictures makes me want to get just the right ones and try to stay in a sort of "budget".

It's located very close to me. You get the whole pot and he has lots of crowns in most pots. The plants are very healthy. It's my favorite local nursery to shop. His perennials are great too! The owner is extremely helpful and knowledgeable.

Ken, you are way TOO good as a detective. I just joined North Coast this year and they are visiting this nursery soon so I'm sure it's good. I was away from home with only my tablet and time on my hands, so what else to think about but hostas. I remembered a couple posters here had been there, so I posted my question here instead of waiting til I got home to call. I called them today and left message.

Update - This is what I bought:

They were very nice hostas and reasonably priced. It was a little difficult finding specific names without asking because some rows had little or no labeling. They are trying to get better.

Dick in Ohio, I just reread these posts. I was not clear. I developed North Coast Hosta Society website, not the nursery. Lol, I searched every page and didn't find "recieve" in my website. Hahaha, serves me right, not being precise.

I should have been more clear. Close as in, I'll be driving west from Columbus, toward Indianapolis, then toward Chicago. I'm already planning a stop about 3 miles north of Indianapolis, But I pretty much know what they will have for hostas.

The place I was thinking about is an hour south of Columbus. Out of your way.

Wade and Gatton is near Mansfield, which is north of Columbus, you would take I71 north. Emerald Forest is in Columbia Station which is south of Cleveland and would take I71 further north. If you wanted to visit Emerald Forest you could go to Chicago by way of the Ohio and Indiana turnpikes. I do it all the time.
