I can look for the brand, We bought it as an open box special for very cheap. It was perfect condition but just opened. I think the box was ripped and we tossed it all.

No. I've told you how to gain access to the special wrench you need above. The faucet must be mechanically fastened.

We've had the same problem with our faucet (similar to yours). The plastic tool that comes in the box wasn't getting it tight enough. (I kept everything under the sink in plastic grocery bags so it's quick to pull it all out to tighten faucet!) My dad came to visit today and brought a long handled metal tool that he bought from Harbor Frieght. We will see if this works. I'm tired of the faucet being so loose all the time.

You could replace it with a new Delta that tightens from the top. I love those things.

Clearly you bought the open box from someone else who used Joe's method :-)

These unsung heroes of the kitchen are engineered to be installed ONE WAY. Stop looking for alternative fasteners, you're wasting your time. If you can't figure out whose faucet you purchased (seriously?) and contact them for a replacement wrench, you're going to have to buy a new faucet or call a plumber. I hope you figure it all out.
