A follow-up on Dena's question - Since you don't worry about cross-pollination, do you not plant seeds from your own plants so you have known varieties from seed breeders, or do you plant seeds from your previous year's plants and rely on serendipity?

I have not really seen much crossing done by bees. I plant some old favorites and try some new ones that I haven't grown yet. I am at an age where cross-pollination concerns are no longer my concerns.

Your mg's are unique, and offer something to look forward to each morning. :)

How are your Morning Glory's doing this October?

Most of mine are still alive, some starting to yellow like the trees but still a so-so amount of green leaves. So far only one morning glory died in a low spot in my yard a couple of days ago when it got to near freezing. Will be warm this week so hopefully I'll still get a couple more flowers from the others before Halloween.

Have any of yours died yet? what's the most cold tolerant MG that you have (if you know from previous years). just curious because in my yard I have a dead one, partly yellow leaves, and one vigorous one that is still all green and going strong.
