Do the pots have good drain holes? Did you plant them slightly higher than the soil they were in previously? Try moving them to a bit shadier location until they get established. I am guessing when you bought them they were in a slightly shaded area and now it looks like they are in full sun on a hot patio. Gardenias can be fussy and they want to be in the ground. Yes, you can keep them in a pot, but the roots will fill that pot quickly after they get established. Try misting the leaves daily for a couple of weeks.

Gardenias tend to like afternoon shade in florida. They likely are getting to hot.

Thank you! Yes the patio is missing it's shade the past couple of days because we are re-doing the roof on the pergola. I'm going to move them until we have that completed. It's definitely hot here today!!
