I have been working with a designer to design a steam shower (steam unit and general shower functions) for my basement renovation and I am having some issues integrating a built-in bench. The issue is that I prefer to lay down in the steam shower on a bench (I am 6-feet tall) and not just sit, but my current design only permits sitting. At this point, the steam shower would be 72" x 38" with the bench going along the 38" wall. While it would be ideal to put the bench on the 72" wall, however a 18" bench would only leave 20" of width space for standing in the shower which I am afraid may not be enough. I guess what I am trying to figure out is that if I am putting in a 18" bench how much width space do I need to ensure people have enough space to shower and not feel cramped. If there is any guidance people could offer that would be amazing!!!!!!
