Paint the cabinets??

We just bought an older home and they updated the counters with granite...need advice on what to do with the cabinets? Is the color ok and just needs new hardware, or should we paint or stain the cabinets? Also, what color hardware do you recommend?

If you like the current color, then don't bother painting them, but if you do, there are lots of options besides white. Pictures would definitely help.

You could paint the cabinets (either lighter or darker). The finish you choose for cabinets should contrast with handles (ie. brushed nickle for darker cabinets and darker finish for light/white cabinets)...

It would be nice to see a picture but if you want to change them painting is the easiest answer.
