Kitchen dilemma- Corner Cabinet issue- soffit or no soffit? HELP!

We are building a lake house and the kitchen design is stumping us and our designer. The ceilings are vaulted but are not symmetrical in the kitchen. The wall/soffit that is above the sink/open shelves starts at 9 feet and goes up 48" inches in height and is open above to a vaulted ceiling. There is a mezzanine that is above that same row looking down over the kitchen and open living room. We are having issues figuring out the design of the upper cabinets where the soffit meets the vaulted non vaulted portion of the cabinets (stove wall). We have tried doing open shelving in the corner but then it looks like we have too many open shelves and I really prefer them over the sink area.

Any advice on the design? Do we just add a matching soffit on the stove side that goes all the way up to the vaulted ceiling so that we dont have the corner issue?? Help please as we need to finalize and order cabinets ASAP!

Thank you all!!!
