Still clueless what you are asking.

Darn! It is my first post on Houzz. I am sorry. I am not trying to be so unclear! Want very nice windows. Middle line Marvin or high end Anderson I think. Wondering how to design the windows so that the price is low. Two arches we have that I am sure will be a lot! Double hung, cottage sash, some mulled (word?) together..some have one grill.. white with white and white hardware.. we need that old style casing for house style. Our question... what about sliding? Should we try for casement instead? What about hopper, tilt.. etc.. where does the price get crazy? I am guessing the French casement inswing and the circle moving windows are way up there! We don't have those thank goodness! Most our windows are not very very big.. all but one picture. Is it lower cost to get a 42" wide double hung vs two 20" wide? Etc etc.. I asked a local rep and was not helped. He shrugged and said give me your schedule with the standard sizes.. I did. Anderson got a flat quote and no one explained per window design pricing. The standard size for Marvin was received twice, forwarded to other associate and never quoted. I don't want to be a nuisance when I ask for a quote again.. would rather have some trusty sense of knowing how much each window design varies in price.

I'd suggest taking your plan to your local window store, show it to a salesperson and ask for guidance.

Single hung and sliders are the least expensive. One 48" window is less expensive than 2 24" windows.

Casements, awnings and hoppers could double the cost.

Home Depot and Lowes etc could also help.
