Repotting a root bound compacted hosta

I finally decided to repot my Guardian Angel. Weather hasn't been too hot yet, so why not?

Here it is soaking in a pail of water:

Lots of roots!

I had to work very hard to untangle them:

And my back was getting tired!

It took me quite a while and my budgie was waiting for me--watching from indoors. In fact she sometimes makes it difficult for me to come back into the house. We have two sets of sliding doors. I will leave one open and close the other when I go out to the garden. Well, here is my budgie sitting on the door handle of the sliding door. Now how can I get in without her flying out?

She thinks I am her mate. She likes to be with me all the time.

So finally finished repotting. It was quite tiring. Now all I want to know is whether Guardian Angel will be happy now and reward me with more eyes next year.
