You should go with the white walls.. As I think blue is a very catchy color and is very dark and reflective

You're better off to go with a black and white theme and add accents of color. You could accent with lime green, bright yellow, red, orange or blue. Just small pops of color will add so much more than a whole wall (meaning too much) of any color. Definitely back away from all that blue!

Maybe a valance on the outer two
Being valance on the top and then hanging draped to the outer side
Then maybe Mirror on the other window in that group
The middle window. Maybe just a net halfway or leave it bare

It just seems odd to do full length curtains in this style of kitchen. I'd like to keep it clean looking, no frills.

Don't think you'll want to go with full length curtains since you have baseboard heat. White shutters or white wood blinds would work very well with a black/white theme. You could add a valance of B/W piped in your accent color. Imagine this valance using black & white with bright piping.

May be a bit much. Perhaps juxtaposing the eye-catching checkerboard with soft, rich tones. Here we did a kitchen using a true vanilla on the cabinets and metallic blue as an accent on the upholstery.

One small detail that would make a big difference is changing the pulls on the cabinets to solid black knobs...

Look back at the purple & pink valance above then think of using the Sofia Fabric B/W stripe with the black & white flower fabric above for the overlap...Pipe the edges in lime green or bright yellow or clear red.

Get rid of all the blue, once you change the color you'll really feel like you have a completely new kitchen.
The apple green would be a good choice and white backsplash, the floor and the happy green are all you need to make the statement.

Stay with the color you love! The table and chairs are perfect and I think your large kitchen will look amazing with the floor and bold color choices. No everyone wants a boring kitchen that is monochromatic which seems to be the trend these days. If you let the paint choices be the colorful part and you decide to sell you house you can always go back and paint the wall white and in the meantime you can have fun in your colorful retro kitchen.

I love the choice for the table and chairs. I really gives the room a retro feel. I think if you decide to go with the blue walls that you should go with black and white for the windows. Maybe something in a nice geometric. You could always bring in little touches of red in a coordinating accent fabric.

U guys have given me so many great ideas! I am pretty much on the same page with my red accents with the small appliances! Lol. If u guys have anymore ideas with pics pls keep sending them. My curtains, back splash & color walls r all still up in the air....lol Ty again & keep sendin the ideas my way!!

The fact that you're on Houzz asking for opinions tells me you're not sure that the blue is the right way to go. Trust your instincts. That much of a color that strong be it blue, red or any other is too much.

Leelee..... I've had this blue 4 11yrs. I love my blue BUT the floor with the blue is makin me think twice about it. I've thought bout 3 walls white 1 wall red or yellow or orange

Hey, I think going with some walls white and other walls blue is great! That has a very artsy look to it! And stainless steal and red accessories would look great with it!

mikemelinda, time for a change don't you think? I do love the black and white tile look. It's harder to install but putting tiles on a diagonal is a the way to go.

I like the idea of a white on white floaty type fabric. Other retro things- so much fun shopping for these!

You might want to consider toning the walls down, like you see in the pictures above. I think a nice neutral or light earth tone would really go a long way. @kelly, your 'diner' comment made me smile because a current project of mine (midway through it) is the makeover of an old Burger Bar .. using the same flooring .... and a lot of colour !

Cozy Casita: so fun! For a residential kitchen, I like the soft blue on the ceiling for walls and white cabinetry and moulding. Maybe a pop of sunshine yellow.

I vote for the white walls and pop color on the pendants, chairs, backsplash and window shades.

At the moment it seems like its too much blue, but once you have added the rest of the furniture and appliances all white everything will fall into place . Just look at this picture you will get the idea

We had got to the tile stage
Not sure about doing that so its been put on hold

So for now its paint
