I think that before you dig out such a nice mature plant, you should get a kit and test it for HVX. But wait until spring, because HVX goes dormant in hot weather, and even plants with a heavy viral load will test negative at that time.

I also think that hostas purchased from big box stores are notorious for having HVX. It's hard to resist some of the bargains, but not worth bringing diseased plants into your garden.

The first picture shows something of possible concern, the 2nd shot is a little less clear and I'm not sure what we're seeing. S&S can take from 5-8 years before it shows visual signs of an HVX infection. If there are only 2 leaves you have noticed I'd be inclined to leave it in place for another year and watch it more closely next year.

AGDIA, the supplier of HVX test strips will ship to Canada I'm sure, but there'll be a minimum order qty and for just one plant I'd be inclined to just leave it be until you see what shows next year. A cursory check of their website shows strips in 5's and 25's
